Club Penguin is a snow-covered virtual island where kids can play games and interact in a fun-filled, online playground that's guided by an unwavering commitment to safety. Club Penguin is privileged to be part of the Walt Disney Company, which shares its unwavering commitment to creating a fun and safe online entertainment experience for children and families.  The WordGirl website is a giant game in and of itself. We want kids to feel they are actually in the world of WordGirl where they can control and play within various elements of her world. The web experience stays true to the television program. For example, Huggy’s House of Fun is designed to feel like an actual amusement park. Beyond the main activities, there are other classic mini-games such as “Dunk Huggy” or “Test Your Strength.”(Adapted from pbskids.org/wordgirl/)  The KidZone site is targeted to the Kindergarten thru Grade Six age group. Much of the basic information on the site is knowledge accumulated through the years and is known by most adults (information like "birds have feathers") -- I can't give a specific bibliography for this type of information (other than a big thank-you to all the great teachers I had in my young life and the equally wonderful teachers my daughters Tasha and Kaitlyn have now).(Adapted from http://www.kidzone.ws/bibliography.htm)  Internet4Classrooms is a great website for teachers and students alike. It provides links to different resources and is intended to help students and teachers master the TEKS, as required by the State of Texas.There are many online activities for students and resources for teachers.
